We have traveled all over the world donating music equipment and training youth in community centers from Fiji to Ethiopia – and people always ask: “when are you going to build a Beat Making Lab in the United States?” We finally have an answer to that question:

On Friday September 27th we will launch a USA Beat Making Lab Street at a community center in Chapel Hill called the Scene Teen Center. This is a free music studio where youth in North Carolina can to come to learn how to make beats, record songs and build community. The opening will be followed by a performance at the Morehead Planetarium across the street from our studio on UNC’s campus. LiLa, Sacrificial Poets and 1Beat will perform in the Planetarium (while the galaxy expands overhead) as part of our Art + Activism Festival. Find more details here.
